John Chipman graduated with a Master of Architecture degree in 1987 from California Polytechnic State University. He graduated first in his class and received several design and academic honors including the Henry Adams Scholastic Award for academic achievement and the Neutra Thesis Award for the outstanding thesis project of the year. He also received the AIA Certificate of Merit and the AIA School Medal.

Mr. Chipman entered the profession of Architecture in 1981. He worked for several small architectural firms before joining Leason Pomeroy Associates in 1987. At LPA, John was a project architect involved in the design & production of more than 750,000 sq. ft. of commercial projects.                             

John Chipman formed Chipman Architects in 1991. Since its inception, Chipman Architects has provided clients with successful and creative projects in a wide spectrum of building types.
 
Mr. Chipman has lectured and served on design juries at USC, Cal Poly Pomona and Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, CA.  In addition to his architectural credentials, John Chipman holds a California teaching credential, a degree in foreign language and is fluent in Spanish and English.

Mr. Chipman is a California licensed Architect and a LEED Accredited Professional.
